Last spring as I was finishing grad school, working for GW, and going through a fast track Peace Corps application process, I told my mom I was going to need to "embrace chaos" to keep from exploding from stress and sleep deprivation in the next couple months. On my graduation weekend she presented me with a gorgeous, wildly colorful hand-made quilt, with those words, "Embrace Chaos", embroidered into it as an ongoing reminder of how to stay sane by letting go. It's become an invaluable mantra for me here in Cameroon. The background for my blog is inspired by what that quilt represents - the comfort of home and loved ones (and my own bed), and the beauty of choosing to be happy right where you are.
